Believe me when I said I didn't even read up much about Vietnam. I didn't even bother to look for hotel. And I've not book any yet, and not intending to book one. That's what makes it thrilling.

The only thing that I've to worry about is the domestic air ticket which Thuy told me she will book for me. Till now, I've not heard from her. So let's say she doesn't get back to me, then I will have to take the train and bus up to the North, which will make my trip even more adventurous because..... I know nuts about booking the bus and train.

I'm going to pack light, and rough the trip out like the usual. Nope, I won't be bringing my mini make up kit, or the hair dryer, or a skirt (for clubbin'). I will just go with my backpacker's wardrobe -

Two pairs of bermudas (including the one which I will be wearing)

Five tee shirts (including the one which I will be wearing)

One pair of shorts (Sleep)

One pair of pants / track pants (just in case I need to be dressed appropriately)

Three sets of undergarments

One pair of flip flops flats (I will be wearing my crocs)

One sweater (it is cold in Hanoi?)

One poncho (for rain)

I will be having one waist pouch for me to keep my camera, passport, and cash. No, there's no wallet. I will have a slim card holder for the cash and cards.

As for the techy and misc. stuff I will be bringing:

my laptop (am still thining if i should)

my ext. hdd (unless I have extra 10 GB of SD memory card)

my mp3 player (can't do w/o music)

N96 or N85 (one has 16GB of memory space while the latter has got a good camera, can't decide)

camera with a total storage space of 6GB of memory card

swiss army knife (i think i lost it)

I'm not bringing my full set of toiletries. I'll just bring my tooth brush and tooth paste, facial wash, three packs of wet tissues, one face towel and a mini tube of my perfum - Kenzo's L'eau Par. (can't do without this fragrance)

Okay, am just done with my first part of planning.
